$70 for a manicure ?

Usually every week I go to my local nail salon in my town for a manicure. Chipped nails are my pet peeve! So during the week I went to the nail salon to get my weekly manicure, and got my nails painted “wicked” a dark maroon color made my Essie. Since I am always in the salon I became very friendly with the employees there. They know my name and already pick out my nail polish because I get the same color all the time. After I got my nails done and I went home. I went back out to get gas for my car and as the guy was pumping my gas I couldn’t find my wallet! I was so upset I couldn’t find it. I had to call my dad to drop off money, because I couldn’t leave without paying for gas that was already put into my car. We were looking all over for my wallet and it was no where to be found. My parents were so mad at me; they kept calling me careless and irresponsible. We called the nail salon and they were closed, I was convinced my wallet feel out of my bag on my way out of the nail salon. 10 o’clock the next morning I was in the parking lot for the nail salon to open. As soon as the key touched the door I was walking to the store. When they saw my face they immediately said “don’t worry, we have your wallet”! I was so relieved. They wanted to call me to let me know they had it but they didn’t have my phone number. I was so lucky that they didn’t take any of my money or credit cards. So next time you go somewhere be careful and make sure you have your wallet!

two of a kind

                                                          Talene

Q: Have you ever traveled out of the US, if so where?
A: England, Switzerland, Lebanon

Q: What’s your favorite sushi roll?
A: Spicy tuna and shrimp tempura

Q: Where do you shop?
A: express, Macys, little boutiques

Lebanon

                                               England
                                                    Switzerland

Interviewing Talene was fun. She seems like a really down-to-earth person. In the beginning of class I was nervous I was going to be paired up with someone that was uncomfortable with speaking to an unfamiliar person. I was happy when I got paired up with Talene; she had a good personality which made it easy for me to have a conversation with her. In the beginning we were asking each other very basic questions and as we got deeper into the discussion we asked more personal questions. Since we had a lot of things in common it was easy for us to relate with one another. The conversation never felt uncomfortable or awkward. Towards the end of the conversation we were a lot more informal and friendly.

always look for coupons !!!!

\
As we all know Valentine’s Day is tomorrow; Monday February 14, 2011. Are you trying to get the perfect gift for your loved one? Well this whole week I was searching everywhere to find the perfect gift. I decided to make my boyfriend a collage of pictures of all the places we went together this year. I printed out pictures of all the places we went to, and then I went to Michaels Craft store to get stickers to match the places we went to. I bought a big frame and divided up the frame into 6 different sections. Each section represented a different location we went to. The stickers were really expensive; so I went to Michaels.com to see if they had any coupons. They had 40% off coupons for all items not on sale. Since I could only use one coupon per visit I went a few times during the week to get what I needed for this project. The stickers were $4.99 each and I bought about 7 packages of stickers and the frame was $29.99, the coupon saved me almost $40. I recommend anyone who shops at Michaels to go to their website and print out coupons. You can really save a lot of money when using coupons.

Great value

It was my fourteen year old cousin’s birthday this week and I wanted to buy her a special gift. It is very hard to find a good gift for someone after the holiday season. I knew she got everything she wanted for Christmas so it was very difficult to find her something. I was at Roosevelt Field shopping mall, looking around to buy stuff for myself. I went into Sephora (a cosmetic store) to buy myself makeup, as I was there I thought it would be a great idea to get my cousin perfume. She is only fourteen, so she never bought perfume before. Perfume is very personal and depending on the person, perfume can smell different to different people. The sales clerk saw that I was having a difficult time in picking a particular perfume and came to help me out. She introduced me to this new item Sephora just same out with. It is a fragrance sampler of all the best seller perfumes and a voucher for a full-size version of the fragrance you choose. It costs $50, but it is a $96 dollar value. http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P273901&categoryId=S20108&shouldPaginate=true So, which ever fragrance you select you get the biggest bottle they sell for a lesser value. Not only is this is an amazing value, they are also giving you a selection of the best selling fragrances. It was also a benefit because I was struggling on which perfume to get her and now she had the chance to choose for her own. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking to buy someone a gift. They also have this gift set for men as well. Even if you want to buy perfume or cologne for yourself you can purchase this sampler set and use the voucher, which cost a lot less money then that full-sized bottle.  http://reviews.sephora.com/8723/P249360/reviews.htm
